Mobile X-Ray

Mobile X-Ray systems (portables) are an essential element of any imaging department. Within hospitals, portables enable radiology departments to extend the range of their services well beyond their department. Portables are frequently used to provide diagnosis of a patient’s lungs or aid in a PICC Placement on in-patients. However they are also used in the ER, NICU, ICU, OR, or as back up for other imaging equipment. Outside of the hospital environment, you will find them being used in clinics, private practices, nursing homes, coaches-mobile imaging services, military (battlefield), veterinary, and much more.

For years, operating a portable was an arduous task. Not only did a technologist have to push a heavy piece of equipment, they had to carry a stack of cassettes in order to image more than just one patient. Another alternative for the technologist was to run back and forth between the department’s film processor and the portable. Of course, this is an outdated and inefficient practice and results in less than optimal patient care.

Core Medical Imaging is helping to change this old paradigm by actively promoting the use of Digital Radiography (DR) in a mobile environment. Core Medical offers a selection of new portables that use the Canon Medical Systems DR technology. These portables are smaller, more agile, and much easier to operate (Touch screen – APRs – etc.). The portables have higher power capabilities and can operate on either DC or AC power. However, customers do not have to purchase a new portable to use the DR technology. Core Medical can upgrade one of your existing AMX IV portables, or sell you a refurbished AMX and add Canon’s DR in your facility.


Mobile X-ray Rentals:
Core Medical Imaging also has both standard and DR portables for rental by the week. Traditionally we rent these systems to customers who are upgrading or replacing a heavily used Radiography room. However, these portables are available for whatever your need may be.
