- University of Washington Medical Center just acquired Shimadzu's latest and most advanced remote R/F room, the SonialVision Safire II. The SonialVision Versa has a hi/lo table load capacity of 700lbs, and the Safire II a-Selenium Direct Conversion detector achieves the highest resolution in a digital R/F imaging system. This system with it's TomoSynthesis capabilities along with many other state of the art features will set an entirely new standard for Bariatric care in the Northwest and the United States. East Portland Imaging Center (EPIC) Portland, OR purchased Shimadzu's newest Remote R/F room, the SonialVision Versa (first in the U.S.) equiped with Canon's - CXDI 50C DR sensor (first in the U.S.), which will be installed in late 2006. EPIC will be the first customer in the United States to own and operate the SonialVision Versa and the Canon - CXDI 50C DR. The SonialVision Versa has a hi/lo table (500 lbs. all motion) with static load capacity of 700 lbs., and uses the DAR 8000i high resolution digital imaging system.  This system will set a new standard for Bariatric care in the Northwest. This will be the 4th Shimadzu remote system that EPIC has purchased in their long history with Shimadzu Medical Systems. Overlake Hospital Medical Center placed an order for their second Shimadzu - RadSpeed and 2 Canon - DRs, the CXDI-40EC and CXDI-50C Emergency Room that will be located in their new facility expansion, which is scheduled to open in 2007.

Core Installs First DR Viewer in US

Core Medical installed the first DR Image viewer in 2004 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Bellingham Washington. St. Joseph's now have the ability to stitch DR exams for scoliosis, long legs, etc. The DR viewer is also a diagnostic workstation allowing for DICOM print, calibrated measurements, Cobb angles, and more.
